Institut Français du Rwanda’s library is located in the premises of the Centre Culturel Francophone (25 KG 624 street) and presents a set of entirely French-speaking resources (and some in Kinyarwanda):

The library of the French Institute of Rwanda is located in the Francophone cultural centre of Rwanda in Kimihurura.
The librarians are looking forward to welcoming you and offering you all, adults and children, a wide choice of books.
The books can be consulted free of charge on site or by means of a home loan subject to the payment of an annual subscription. This subscription also includes access to more than 400,000 resources that can be consulted online via the “Culturethèque” digital platform.

Culturethèque is accessible from Rwanda, and everywhere in the world, except from France, and at any time. This digital portal of French cultural structures abroad offers many resoucres that can be downloaded or consulted online. You can connect to your Culturethèque account from your computer, tablet, and personal smartphone or from the Centre Culturel Francophone’s library computer. In a few figures, Culturethèque is 136 countries already connected, more than 300 000 users and nearly 400 000 documents.
Our offer
Institut Français du Rwanda’s library offers all the services of a library oriented towards the French-speaking world and makes it possible to consult the related works on site, on loan from home or through the digital library “Culturethèque”.
The library currently has an adult section with novels and comics, a youth section including albums and youth novels, comics and manga, a learner’s library for French learners and a children’s corner for toddlers. It also has a collection of books in Kinyarwanda and English.
Media library users can communicate with staff in both French and Kinyarwanda.
